here we have: A flash flood funnels a newly-formed family into a strangely bare trailer park in Joshua Tree National Park. While the youngest sister breaks the fundamental "do not talk to strangers" rule, the teen sister wanders off to hike alone (big yikes), leaving a suspiciously earnest stepdad to search for Mom, who "succumbs to a malevolent supernatural force tucked inside an abandoned camping trailer that shatters her consciousness and threatens the sanity of the entire family."
Vibes of a made-for-streaming miniseries that strives for an A24 sheen, with solid art and fantastic coloring. Everything about this-- the setting, the characters, the spooky lore, the family tragedy that must be overcome to defeat the darkness-- just needed more than four issues to get to the meat of it all. That said, an impressive amount of work was done in only four issues, and it was as entertaining a stay as one could hope for in a trailer park. Once again I've proven I'll buy whatever horror Vault Comics puts out.
